Nick shows a lot of restraint with his guitar riffs compared to other albums, but still blesses us with glitchy, grungey sounds like the solo on "Don't Paint the Sun." My parents hate this album the least.

Certainly a controversial direction for the band, but this album ultimately rests as my favorite from TTNG. The technical mastery of their previous albums is still present here along with some very thought provoking and philosophical lyrics. I may not always agree with the lyrical messaging, but this is an album which rewards careful listening.
